Protector - A Shedding of Skin (1991)

Protector have proved during the past decades that they are one of those bands who are simply unable to disappoint. Even though they always were an underrated band, they kept releasing high quality thrashing death albums from time to time, that could match or even highly beat the well known classics of the genre.
Their third full lenght release "A Shedding of Skin" was probably their most aggressive and intense album, that could serve as a good example how to create something great in this style. Their lyrical concept was always like something seemengly horror based vision that in some way reveals itself as the reality in which we live. Like if the difference was blurry, or maybe there's no difference to find, this is a living horror. The great progress that they had in sound made their intensity more effective. This was leading for "A Shedding of Skin" to take place amongst the most aggressive thrash albums. But on the side of  the merciless hammering and strongly unfriendly tone, there's also no lack of diverse themes and frequent speed switches. Compared to "Urm the Mad" it was an all-round spectacular development, a very well composed masterpiece.
