However, there have been a few advantages of such late arrival as well. Partly the names of these "late came" bands maybe couldn't reach so wide range of audiences like older bands did, but because their activity and productiveness stayed stable, they haven't been forgotten so easily either. "Abrah Kadavrah" was originally came out in 1996, but this second release from 2000 also includes the "Ma belle scalpelle" EP from 1994, that was old school death metal at its best. The band had a unique, easily identifiable style, that couldn't be confused with others, and this wasn't a small thing in a style that lined up tons of bands apparently. They focused on the core essence of the genre, and didn't even try to involve any typically scene determining features, such as the Swedish "buzzsaw sound". The song compositions are simple, and highly enjoyable. Soon, after it became evident, that the brutality contest of the early '90s has expired, and as the main trends have drastically changed, Defleshed switched to more traditional sounding thrash/death. This became their preferred direction after, to reflect both the intensity of thrash and the harshness of death metal, and applying both with precision and care. Eventually a more old school and traditional thrashing death metal sounded like a reverse tendency next to the long line of bands who experimented with unusual style mixes and technical, progressive ambitions. And a decade later, when vintage sound became a tendency (mainly coming from Sweden), laymen could have looked at Defleshed as a pioneer of the actual underground trend.
