For those who desire modern adaptations of the heaviest aspect of old school death metal, War Master would be an excellent choice.
They preferred to operate with basic themes, fast, thrash based intense hammering that often switches to middle speed with blast beat assistance. This is always advantageous when it's about expressing heavy sound, which is in their case recalls the obscure approach of old Immolation. If it's about the main impression, plenty of possible influences could be mentioned from Bolt Thrower to Carnage, but the guitar themes and short solos somehow strongly reminding to Massacre the most. These short ominous, kind of hellish themes gained determining role on "Pyramid of the Necropolis" because of their catchiness and short duration that created a temporarily uplifting effect from the obscure, distorted musical devastation. This shows analogy with the returning song structure of Finnish death metal, except here they're not like returning melodies that are framing the songs into a whole, but still the concept is similar. "Pyramid of the Necropolis" could be enjoyable for both the old and new fans of the genre, because it effects nostalic and refreshing the same time compared to the actual tendencies of the main metal scene.
