Decrepitaph - Beyond the Cursed Tombs (2010)

Decrepitaph was probably the best band of Elektrokutioner's plenty of projects, and also seemed to be the most productive one.
After a raw, rudimental, but convincing debut, they've returned with the pure death metal masterpiece "Beyond the Cursed Tomb". Like at all of Elektrokutioner's other bands, the desperate horror addiction with blasphemous tendencies, strongly old school death metal orientation, and the catchy ominous themes were returning at Decrepitaph too, but in a way noisier and heavier form. The rummbling sound assisted by deep growling created a quite obscure view, that could be compared to Incantation, except Decrepitaph's music isn't so complex and was built up with simpler themes. Speed switches are more common, and slow downs longer lasting from middle speed to doomy depths, when the ominous melodies prevailing the most. The album is diverse and the songs are well composed, there is a certain order or recipe to discover how the songs were written, and that made the album unified. "Beyond the Cursed Tomb" showed the most effectively the combination of their devastating sound and varius themes. Similar obscureness are not common to find, not only in death metal, but in extreme genres too. If there's an authentic introduction of the essential putridness and rotting sound, than ladies and gentlemen, this is it.
