Zombified - Zombified Slaughtermachine (2010)

Zombified was formed as a fun made project, and that's easy to discover in the main concept, but on the other side the potential in the band is also shown.
It might be not surprising to hear traditional Swedish sound from a Swedish old school death metal band, but what makes them different or cool on the side of the countless similar other bands who keep producing nearly the same sound and quality since the late '80s until today? With time this question only gets more difficult to anwser after listening more and more bands in this style even if they're reaching the expectations. "Zombified Slaughtermachine" is a quite energic album, that on the side of old school death metal symphatized with brutal death and on some level with grindcore too, but since the grindcore related elements are too occasional and their role and duration is kind of restricted, the brutal death influences are getting more into focus. The usual Swedish buzzsaw effect completely marks the album and gives it a classification that's not really possible to get rid of. In case of experimenting themes it might have more disadvantageous effect, since the intensiveness of Zombiefied doesn't represented only in the fast hammering  and in the speed, but also in the diverse theme combinations. From the more classic riffings to blackened themes they've tried many options and hidden into the various points of the album like unexpected small surprises. Of course the point is not on diversity in the case of an old school horror and gore based concept, more like on the hammering and grinding compatibility, and from this aspect "Zombified Slaughtermachine" offers excellent entertainment.
