Even though it's not quite sure how consistent the style selection was, cause Mythic meant to be a death metal band, and by listening it's clear that their style wasn't completely developed yet. They were a young band experimenting and trying to find some common ground. They preferred basic themes and middle speed with common slow downs, that proved to work well together. Simple themes and melodies fitting better to express heaviness, but it's noteable that the drumms were more intense and diverse than how they used to be in doom metal. The style death/doom itself was only about to form when the band was started, but some early milestones have been placed already that lately determined the development of the style. On the side of the drumms, the noisy, obscure sound was the other strong point of Mythic's music. These combined with the simple themes and Miss Duffey's growling vocal style created a quite primitive and kind of savage main impression. "Anthology" includes the basically short lived band's 2 demo records and the debut "Mourning in the Winter Solstice" EP, so it might be exciting to follow their short but still productive musical journey. After Mythic bass player Mary Bielich showed up in Derkéta, and Dana Duffey formed Demonic Christ.
